Building One: A three-story steel framed office building sits on a site with very poor surface fills. The foundation system consists of deep spread footings topped with grade beams, C-I-P foundation walls, and a structural first level slab. It is supported with a conventional steel moment frame, bar joists, and a form deck/slab system on the upper levels. It is clad with a brick veneer against metal stud backup. Building Two: A two-story steel framed office building over a traditional spread and strip footing foundation system. The framing and cladding systems mimic Building One.
